On Friday October 4th 2019, faculty and staff are invited to an Un-conference about Student Conduct and Academic Integrity.
An unconference is a meeting that is driven by participants and encourages the sharing of information and ideas in an informal setting. The agenda for an unconference is designed by the participants on the day. Key topics could include: late assignments, cheating, plagiarism, managing classroom dynamics, etc. Once the agenda is agreed upon, there will be break-out sessions to discuss these items.
The purpose for this gathering is three-fold: 1) to share faculty and staff perspectives on student conduct issues specific to our community; 2) to share information, skills, and activities we use in our classrooms to prevent or to manage student conduct issues; and 3) to inform how the Teaching and Curriculum Development Centre (TCDC), Student Conduct and Judicial Affairs (SCJA) and the Academic Integrity Committee (AIC) can support the Langara community in issues related to student conduct and academic integrity going forward.
TCDC, the SCJA and the AIC hope that you will join us on October 4th from 10:30-12:30 in room C408 for a robust and productive discussion. Refreshments will be served.
